Course Descriptions
From time to time and assuming there is enough interest in it, I try to run each of the courses that are listed below:
Each of the courses can run at an IBM Education center or on special request on site at any customer location.
1. IBM 4767 CCA Implementation Workshop
2. IBM UDX Software Development Workshop
3. IBM z-Series ICSF implementation Workshop
IBM 4767 CCA Implementation Workshop
The IBM 4767 Cryptographic Coprocessor Implementation course familiarizes students with the IBM 4767
and its Common Cryptographic Architecture Support Program feature.
The seminar provides hands-on experience in installing, programming, testing, and operating the IBM 4767.
We try to setup computer test environments for both Linux and Windows, so the card can be tested in both environments.
After attending the course, students will be able to install, program, and use the IBM 4767
in its IBM Common Cryptographic Architecture (CCA) mode.
In addition, participants will be able to design solutions that use IBM's other CCA products.
This course usually starts on Monday afternoon and it finishes at Friday noon.
IBM UDX Software Development Workshop
The IBM UDX Programming Workshop familiarizes students with the IBM UDX Toolkit.
The course provides hands-on experience in installing the Toolkit and in designing, building and testing UDX functions with it.
After attending the course, students will be able to design UDX
applications and to install, program, and use the IBM UDX Toolkit.
The course is useful for students that want to create UDX functions in a workstation environment, but also for students that want to
develop UDX functions for IBM z-Series product line.
The 'standard' UDX Toolkit course takes 3,5 days and it can start on a Monday or on a Tuesday.
It is also possible to arrange for an extra day of introductory CCA
presentations, in which case the class has to start on a Monday.
IBM z-Series ICSF implementation Workshop
This course covers the customization and programming concepts of IBM's CCA/ICSF program running on the z-Series mainframes.
The course is useful for everyone who is involved in security applications that use CCA/ICSF.
The IBM CCA/ICSF solution is very successful at IBM's mainframe
customers and it is widely used in all kinds of application
environments including homebanking, corporate banking, Public Key
Infrastructure etc.
The course is given in the form of a workshop, where the participants
will gain practical experience in designing, coding and running CCA
applications.
CCA Exercises will run on Pc's that are equipped with 4767 crypto cards.
This course usually starts on Monday morning and it closes at Friday noon.
